Go past
Don’t stop to meet me. Go past. Don’t stop to believe in the words I write or the words anyone else writes and less of what I or anyone says. Push past all the words. Past believing any of them. It’s hard. It’s been easier all your life not to and one by one all the words you’ve heard and learned have middled you in place. Not just you. Long before you. Long after you. Long before and after me but from this middling you must push past in both directions if you ever are going to catch up to where you started. Push forwards on what words come next. Push backwards on what words were said or read, their meanings, their connections. Push until you see who owned them first, then push past them word and owner. See where they stopped and then push back father. It is hard to start yet harder to stop once you end up fearless in both directions. It is not the unknown possibilities. It is the possibility of the unknown. Do this before the first rep of every set when you lift. Do this after the last words of every sentence when you listen. That’s where I will meet you. Don’t stop to meet me. Go past. I’m waiting for you.
